Museum of Gavà

Developed in 1978 in light of the area's singular archaeological wealth, the Gavà Museum plays a crucial role in safeguarding and disclosing the region's cultural and natural heritage. Its three main focal points are the research, conservation and disclosure of the surrounding area's historical and natural heritage, placing particular emphasis on material from the prehistoric mines. The collection, focused on the prehistory of the mines and other sites in the Garraf Massif, also contains material from the Iberian village of Turó de Calamot, the Can Sadurní cave in Begues, the Roman anchorage from Les Sorres in the Llobregat Delta, the Roman villas of Sant Pere de Gavà, Can Valls del Racó and La Roca and the Eramprunyà Castle.
